I tried so hard over the past few months to make appreciable earnings from Adbrite. Imagine my shock when I received this news by email from Adbite few days ago. It was all mixed feelings. Adbrite, which prides itself as "...an efficient, full-service ad exchange for display and video" is now planning to wind up its business.

I have come to realise that I cannot do without an ad server. I recently understood what an ad server is. Wikipedia, the ever-handy online encyclopedia, tells me it is a "...technology and service that places advertisements on web sites." Simple! That is all it is.
