Etisalat’s High Speed 3.75G HSPA+ Service Now in Calabar

PRESS RELEASE (21st May 2012) -- Etisalat’s subscribers in Calabar can now enjoy high speed internet browsing, downloads, video calling, video streaming and other data services as innovative and fastest growing telecommunication company Etisalat has rolled out its 3.75G High Speed Packet Access (HSPA+) service in Calabar. The Etisalat 3.75G service known as easyblaze is a mobile broadband internet service capable of speeds up to 42Mbps.

Speaking on the extension of the service to new cities, Chief Commercial Officer Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Wael Ammar, said that with the launch, Etisalat customers in the new roll-out cities can now enjoy high speed data, good voice calling and advanced internet services.

According to him, the launch of easyblaze, is just one of ways Etisalat delivers on its promise of providing its subscribers with quality and innovative products and services.

“Etisalat’s easyblaze was designed with the customer in mind, with a lot of time and resources spent on research and development to provide a fast, simple, reliable and quality broadband internet service. The Etisalat 3.75G network is built on an Next Generation HSPA+ network with dual carrier technology capable of downloading speed of up to 42 Megabytes per second (Mbps),” he said.

Ammar said that Etisalat has received very positive feedback from other locations in which the service was launched in 2011 and that the company continues to expand its network to ensure that its quality is not compromised.

Etisalat’s easyblaze can be used on a wide range of mobile devices on the Etisalat portfolio including - Smartphones, tablets, routers and USB modem. Etisalat was the first to deploy the 3.75G technology in Nigeria and the telecoms company has taken a giant stride in delivering internet service, which is second to none in the telecommunications market. The company launched its 3.75G network in September last year in Lagos, with the service initially available in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, Zaria, Warri, Enugu, Aba, Awka, Nnewi, Onitsha and Benin.
